Know How To Become A Contributor

People who choose to become a political contributor in the U.S. by giving donations to a political party must do so within the limits set by 1975 the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA). The Federal Election Commission (FEC) enforces this rule and acts against violations of it. The Presidentially appointed and congressionally approved six person body which administers the FEC is largely empowered to act toward federal campaign contributors.

The FEC will hold contributors to giving donations at various levels. Individual contributors to a specific candidate are allowed the lowest permissible donation amount, at $2400. National Party committees can receive at most, $30,400 from an individual contributor, while Party committees at the state, district and local level can receive, at most, $10,000. Political committees falling into other categories outside those mentioned here can receive, at most, $5000 from contributors at one time.
